Women's Wheelchair Basketball Training

WHAT

Following the successful Kelly Griffin Women's Wheelchair Basketball Challenge in April, we've put together a calendar of regular opportunities offering training and competitions for players. With few female-only opportunities, these sessions allow girls and women come together and play competitive sport. With a good core group of ladies, the sessions are fun and a great way to improve your game in a more relaxed atmosphere. Always on the look out for new players, newbies are welcome!

WHO

Training is for any female over 10 years old. We would love to see as many experienced players as possible as well as those new to the game, or those returning.

Many people don't realise that you don't have to be a wheelchair user in daily life to be eligible for wheelchair basketball, as long as you have some impairment in your legs or feet, and are able to self-propel a wheelchair, you can play!

Also, if you have an able-bodied friend or family member that would like to play, why not bring them along?

All training sessions are on Sundays and run from 3.30-5.30pm.

  • 22-23 Sept - WBNZ National Championships (TBC)*
  • TBC - Women's Wrap Up Event (TBC)
  • Sat 03 Nov - Wheelbreakers Prize Giving (TBC)
