Archery

In the Paralympic Competition, archery is essentially performed the same as it is in the Olympic Competition. The scoring and rules are governed the same way as the Olympics, with some minor modifications. There are three classes, including one for standing and two for wheelchair athletes.

Parafed Auckland offers the use of either re–curve or compound bows.

Classification

Participation in Paralympic archery events include people with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy and amputees.
The three different classes are:

  • Archery Standing: ARST (subclass ARST–C)
  • Archery Wheelchair 1: ARW1 (subclass ARW1–C)
  • Archery Wheelchair 2: ARW2
